Best graphic laptop under $1500

Hi guys, I need a laptop mainly for graphic design n 3D rendering, whats my best bet for a laptop under $1500! Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks

I don't think you can get anything worthwhile in that price range.

geek_vtecintegra, Dec 17, 8:27 pm

Nothing with that price range come w a dedicated 1GB graphc card good enough to run abode package!

The issue is cheap laptops have horrible screens - totally unsuitable for any proper work.

You can buy a pretty decent desktop monitor for $500, but that doesn't leave much for the laptop and obviously it won't be portable.

I see. so anything under $1800!

I'd consider speccing a Dell XPS 15 with the optional 1080p screen.

Be aware they're monsters though, not ideal for carting round. The XPS 15z is another more portable option but is a bit more expensive.

there are a couple of options we have them at work, acer aspire 5560G AMD A8 APU with 8GB ram 750Gb HDD, Bluray, AMD6640 Dual Graphics 1GB $1599.00
or
Aspire 5755G I7 2230 8GB Ram, 1TB HDD, Blue Ray 15.6" and GT540M with 2GB Dedicated Ram $1999.00

This is probably the best deal atm:

If you want good performance for your intended use, you need to stretch your budget out a bit more.

Get a second hand macbook pro. The 17" 250 gb 4 gb ram model has a dedicated graphics card. The choice of pro photographers for location shoots. I see them here for under $1500 and all in good condition.

Do you NEED a laptop ! A MBPro wont render very fast for you, will sound like a jet engine as its fans all fire up. I have two. So I know. A bigger faster Mac will be much cheaper than a MBP and it will scream your files out.

geek_christo37, Dec 18, 7:30 pm

Graphic design! macs. But not at that price.

geek_lythande1, Dec 18, 8:55 pm

Lol, try Acer 5755G (i think thats what its called) core i5 with a 2gb dedicated grapgics card, runs Adobe master suite no probs, I think it was $1499 from Noel leeming. Im not sure they sell them anymore as i bought mine 8 months ago.

geek__roxxra_, Dec 22, 11:39 am

Again the screen is pretty much unusable for real work.
