Think this is a scam - Paypal email - any ideas?

jandalsnz1, Mar 3, 1:11am
I received the below email this morning and this amount has not been taken out of out bank account, nor have I ever bought a Sony Dgitial. I went into their website but refused to register as I think this is pretty dodgy -Feb 13, 2012 07:24:23 PDT

PayPal will only ever email you.

Dear [first name] [second name]

Anything else will be scam related but obviously still be wary if your email has your full name within it.

A relative of mine received the exact same paypal scam email. He knew it was a scam, as he doesn't even have a paypal account. He forwarded the email to me. The paypal link actually takes you to a fake website. If you were to enter in a made up email address and password, like youarescammers@scamnenot.com, password = stupid_scammers, you'll find it proceeds to the next stage where they need to verify who you are, so then if you were to put in a fake name, fake credit card number, fake date of birth, fake mother's maiden name, what do you think the next and final scren says! It's something like "Thank You. The transaction has been cancelled".

These scam emails, sometimes from banks as well, are scams. Especially when they don't address you by your name. And then there are those scam phone calls saying you have errors and malware on your PC. They are scams too.just hang up.
