TelstraClear question

Is anyone experiencing this!
Excellent internet speed morning and daytime, however at night down to crawling unusable speed.
Going by speedtest.net morning and daytime on average is upwards of 10mbps.
At nights average drops to between 0.5 & 2.0
This is what I am consistantly experiencing, any thoughts.

Lots of people using it.Keep records of the speedtest results, keep emailing them. They might eventually do something about it.

Ask them to explain.Otherwise just change ISP if it doesn't improve.

As far as I know, they are all the same.

geek_galfie24, Apr 12, 9:54 am

No problems here using TC - consistently over 10Mbps all day and evening.

More a factor of yr location and local cabinet loading than TelstraClear in particular I think.

That would be pretty low for morning & daytime here, but many multiples above what I get in the night time.
Infact, often I cant even get a result from speedtest.net in the nightime because the site wont load properly due to slowness.

Thanks gj, but was pretty consistant with Telecom here at around 10Mbps all mornings, days and nights. Now I have slightly faster during day and absolute crap at night.

And sync rate and attenuation figures are!

geek_spyware, Apr 12, 10:03 am

Thanks you joined the case spyware, how can I get these!

geek_markie4, Apr 12, 10:08 am

Update: Currently got an investigation open with Telstra and will be sending my hourly results to them, will raise this thread in a couple days again if I get nowhere.

IT actually sounds like your exchange being overloaded at night. eg Peak time congestion . Something TCL don't have alot of control over

geek_neverthere, Apr 13, 9:23 am

Youd think but never experienced it with Telecom previously. I've got a case currently open with them but, so far looks like its going to be a flog off exercise. We'll see.

Here is a small snapshot of how it varies. Is anyoneone else experiencing similar!
