Ipad info please.

I'm considering buying my first Ipad and wonder about the costs per month? I would not need it for movies or music, so just a cheapie pack? I presume.
If I only use it when I leave for a weekend or week away, do I still need to pay - or only when I use it?

I assume you're talking about internet?

There are two types of iPad - Wifi and Cellular. The wifi models will connect up to a wifi network (such as at your home, Starbucks, the library, etc). There are usually no extra costs associated with this.

Cellular iPads require a sim card and you'll need to purchase data from the provider (Spark, Vodafone, etc). If you're watching movies on it, this isn't a good option as it'll be extremely expensive. Usually you're paying about $20 per gigabyte, which will be gone in one movie.

I didn't get the cellular type, just use wifi which is just about everywhere
And I can always use my smart phone to hot spot my personal wifi if there was no coverage, never bothered so far though
