I had a TP Link and it stuffed up in about 3 mths.

I am also looking for a Modem/router to replace the one I am using now due to going onto fibre optic cable shortly.
I was wondering if this would be suitable, I don't do movies etc just normal browsing etc.

Why not ask your ISP? Some work on ADSL/VDSL/UFB. Some don't.

with orcon they use netcom but wont/cant recommend any brand.

If you're planning on staying with Spark they will likely offer you a free router if you agree to stay with them for another 12 months. If not, something like the Netcomm NF8AC works with ADSL, VDSL and UFB so is a good future proof option.

I have just changed from VDSL and got a new modem, despite already having a VDSL + Fibre ready one .
Will put it up for sale on here. Very reliable

Did that, they recommend a Netcomm NF5.
So it is on its way now.
