Computer specs

I need to get a computer that doesn't lag when playing mine craft.
These are the min req. from mine craft
Minimum Requirements:
CPU: Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6 GHz
RAM: 2GB
GPU (Integrated): Intel HD Graphics or AMD (formerly ATI) Radeon HD Graphics with OpenGL 2.1
GPU (Discrete): Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT or AMD Radeon HD 2400 with OpenGL 3.1
HDD: At least 200MB for Game Core and Other Files
Java 6 Release 45

I have found this computer would this be suitable? 909301701 Thanks

Nope, the graphics setup is too slow

You'd be better off with a desktop form factor system which you can add a modest graphics card to

Price is right and if you want to spend an extra $100 you can have the graphic card upgraded to suit your game.

Thanks, it's hard when you don't know much about computers, any other computers in that sort of price range on trade me? Thanks

geek_rubyredslipper, Jul 5, 5:38 pm

What about this one? 912162254 thanks

Shop around. You can get a lot better bang for buck than either of those if you don't rush it.

Thank you, do you have a place you recommend?

geek_rubyredslipper, Jul 5, 9:38 pm

What's your budget? First thing to establish when doing almost anything is the budget.

geek_lugee, Jul 5, 10:37 pm

About the $400 to $500 mark I could extend it a bit if necessary

geek_rubyredslipper, Jul 5, 10:55 pm

everything at that price range listed seems to be overpriced.
This will be good for your purposes, but I wouldnt want to spend much more than the reserve if it goes higher.

EDIT: Actually, around $400 probably wouldnt be too unfair to pay for the lot.

Pretty hard to tell what its worth from that listing TBH given it doesn't say exactly what components were used, or whether it has a COA for WIndows

Personally I'd sooner go with an ex-lease system and just add a graphics card - at least you get a reasonably reliable power supply that way

geek_vtecintegra, Jul 6, 11:15 am

but most ex lease PC's listed are SFF, which means having to find a capable low profile graphics card.

Bear in mind, those minimum requirements for Minecraft will jump considerably when mods are added.

NZ is 1sec behind
