Dummy requires assistance

My laptop on Windows 8 quite regularly informs me that I cannot view a website I am trying to get into due to a long-running script. Unfortunately it doesn't tell me how to stop the script or how to get rid of it. It does eventually get through to the site. Can anyone assist me in stopping or disposing of this unknown script.

Yes - download Firefox or Chrome and ditch Internet Explorer.

That's just going to hide any issues, IE11 on Win 8 is just as good , if not better than anything FF or Chrome dish up.
Also, when you say win 8, have you not upgraded to 8.1 yet? If not, you really need to do that. Also, Does it happen on both the Desktop or Mosaic version of IE. If just the Desktop, you might need to install java for windows.

I completely and 100% disagree that IE is anything close to good.

Those "script" errors are common and completely unique to IE.

But that's just my (and the majority of the internets) opinion.

Surely we're dealing with javascript not java?
