Use of Skype on FB Phone line query.

Will the service provider of Fibre Optic start charging calls made via Skype.

Has anyone used Skype yet on FO and also have FO on their landline use.

Hoped I noted this right, just a thought that if FO is now being available as a Land Line Phone use, that possibly those who used Skype before without any charges could now be faced with calling charges as being all on the same line. Just wondering but Hmmmm.

Skype uses your internet data. it will count towards your monthly allocation, but no charges other than that. It is technically not a phone call.

"Technically not a phone call" but is there any chance that they could alter this. esp voip use or this won't come into it.

Nope. Your provider cannot differentiate between you using Skype and downloading a video or visiting Facebook. Your provider cannot charge you extra for it.

Lets hope it stays like this.

It will. You need to not think of Skype like a phone call, because it's not.

Your provider charging for Skype would be like them charging for you to use Facebook or streaming from YouTube. Technically, there's no difference.
