How to trick Chrome

Running Chrome on a tablet, the tabs are all lined up at the top.
However Chrome on a phone does not do that. It just have a box with number at the top.

Is there a way to trick Chrome on a phone into running like it does on a tablet? I've checked the Chrome://flags but nothing in there appear to be for this setting.

You'd need to mess with the DPI at system level (root access required)

It's that way for a reason. Usually not enough screen real estate on phones.

Some Android apps automatically change layout depending on how much screen resolution is available (so on tablets you get to see more content). So yes you'd have to change settings at a root level. Even then I don't know if it's possible.

Too bad I'm running stock unrooted Android.

I had used Dolphin browser which has this feature with all opened tabs lined at the top. Unfortunately recent updates of Dolphin browser forced closes too often.
