Can I speed this laptop up for internet use

Can I speed this laptop up for internet use It is ASUS Z9100L .40GBHH.256MB.It seams very slow ?.Can anyone recomend any techos?. I know very little about computers. For some reason in the last week it has slowed down ??? why could that be??Do I have to clear something??? Have I stored to much Data?? WHAT could it be?????

Have you tried clearing out your cache for a start and check for spyware & remove etc to see if that helps.

Downgrade to windows 2000 or windows 98, or if you like to tinker with computers then makethemove.net

.... you dont have to downgrade. xp runs fine on 256mb ram if you're not doing anything heavy with it. although 512mb ram would be the recommended amount.

Clean out It will slow down if the harddrive is 85% full. It will slow down if your %TEMP% folder has too much in it, or your web browser cache is set too large. Try CCleaner (formerly Crap Cleaner). It will slow down if Windows Update is downloading updates in the background.

#6 yeah xp runs ok on 256mb ram but 2000 runs faster, 98 even faster. imo.
