| | geek_windsinger | July 23, 2008, 8:38 pm | #2 | | If you are a computer dummy I don't like your chances. I suggest asking someone to come and sort it out. Some of the newer trojans can do some really serious damage, and often require either a number of different programs to fix them in safe mode , or a format and reinstall . First thing to know is to switch off and get someone who knows what they are doing to help you, before you do any more damage, if that is possible. | | geek_1millie | July 23, 2008, 8:39 pm | #3 | | Ok thanks......will do....... | | geek_laj3 | July 23, 2008, 8:42 pm | #4 | | Yeh u should probably get help i just got a trojan and had to send it to a shop to fix after using 3 diffrent antiviruses to get rid of it. lol | | geek_deodar | July 23, 2008, 8:43 pm | #5 | | Why should you remove it for free? Malware is a hidden computer factor.
Get your "friend" to pay for removal.
My courses cost 40K,did you share the costs? You are too obtuse to follow
simple removal instructions like the
"I'm not very computer literate"types
that always get their systems stuffed
with malware. | | geek_deszigned4u | July 23, 2008, 9:05 pm | #6 | | Deodar - I actually sent millie1 in here for some DESPERATELY needed help. Why couldn't you have been more helpful like windsinger was? Can you comprehend how upset someone might be when they realise that their beloved computer has been HIJACKED by some nerdy trojan creator creep!! Obviously not. | | geek_pixma | July 23, 2008, 9:54 pm | #7 | | Just ignoring the tossers here; What you want to do is put antivirus software onto it. Turn it on, and press the F8 key, keep "hitting" it until you get a boot menu. Select 'safe mode' and hit enter. Now download an application called "Antivir", its a free antivirus, Google it and download it. Install it and restart your computer without doing the F8 'thing'!!! Now run antivir software and select full system scan or whatever it says. When (or if), it finds a virus, it'll ask you what you want done with it, eg: delete it, which is what you want to do. Report back!!! | | geek_1millie | July 23, 2008, 10:04 pm | #8 | | Thanks pixma.where do I find the anti-software ????? I need a name to google! | | geek_pcfix4u | July 23, 2008, 10:07 pm | #9 | | It seems to have removed my Anti-virus protection It may be just disabled....go to start / run / and type " misconfig " with out the " marks
then click OK the click startup and see if you can find your anti virus program in there if you can find it but a tick in the box and untick all other items in there, then restart and do the F8 as soon as she starts up if you miss it hit the restart butoon and try f8 if you get to a screen with choices you can use the up arrow select safe mode and hit enter if she makes it that far you will get a window just click yes or OK,,,,, Now see if you antivirus is active or go to start / programs / and try it from there if thats sweet scan the computer. good luck | | geek_pixma | July 23, 2008, 10:07 pm | #10 | | Hi - search google "download antivir", you'll find it. Might take a while on dialup though, if you are on dialup | | geek_icioufa | July 23, 2008, 10:07 pm | #11 | | Nere's 2 free 1's d/l up date the run in safemode a-squared Free 3.5 = http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/download/

Monday.Re evaluating everything,thats
my excuse. :) | | geek_jboyjgirl1 | July 24, 2008, 9:08 am | #13 | | My daughter has used my machine and it now tells me I am infected with spyware and my security centre is not working. How can I find the name of what I am infected with to fix and reactivate the security centre. Not close to help. Thanks | | geek_pheonix | July 24, 2008, 9:21 am | #14 | | Download and update post 11 A squared free Then download Smitfraudfix http://tinyurl.com/l622q Finally restart into safemode and run Smitfraud , then A squared before restarting into normal mode. How to enter safemodehttp://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml | | geek_pheonix | July 24, 2008, 9:24 am | #15 | | Also wise to download Ccleaner and run that just before restarting into safemode. Cleans out the cache and history etc , which makes the scanning in safemode faster due to less files to scan. It can (more by accident than design) clear out some infections that have arrived in the cache and re-infect from there. http://majorgeeks.com/download4191.html | | geek_ringo2 | July 24, 2008, 9:25 am | #16 | | Hi deodar Sorry to hear that you have been unwell and trust that you are recovering to your normal cheerful and helpful self.I had wondered why your posts for the last few days had been unusually sarcastic as you normally have a dry sense of humour but not quite so cutting. | | geek_deodar | July 24, 2008, 10:34 am | #17 | | Ho Ho Ringo, thanks. 1millie that is not anything to worry
about,it's a false alarm from program
(Spyware) that is a notorious scammer
It will even find 136 things if you fall for it,asks you to pay to remove the first 15.-Really!Its called Rogue
Spyware & is the biggest scam on the
net.Run an anti-Spyware to get that,
like FREE SPYBOT S&D,which I hope you use regularly in the future. You've
been HAD. | | geek_4tun8-1 | July 24, 2008, 10:46 am | #18 | | There is no free antiviruses available most of the free ones that ya download are the viruses themselves....they portray to be antiviruses but when downloading those sites your giving the hackers and viruses a way in...its a bit like the devils in disguise | | geek_deodar | July 24, 2008, 11:09 am | #19 | | With many exceptions 4 tun http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

You must never, get between an embe-seal and the ocean, as they're likely to charge. You've been warned. text-boy was right to bring this danger to the attention of the MB. | | geek_ch40s4eva | July 24, 2008, 8:42 pm | #31 | | Dunedin_ree -- | | geek_snoopy221 | July 24, 2008, 8:47 pm | #32 | | Shhesh Deodar is onto it.. After all Smitfraud is the only thing roughly described here. Although not by the first poster . As to the first posters problem well....What colour is the rrof of the vehicle? After all seems most relevant details are left in the **Help Trojan**-well you reckon it's a trojan? How and why????and what is hapenning???mmmmm????I.E. the description of Smitfraud is just as simple as someone posting in laymans terms what is hapenning on their computer... | | geek_snoopy221 | July 24, 2008, 8:48 pm | #33 | | As in Smitfraud....**On to it Deodar** 13. My daughter has used my machine and it now tells
me I am infected with spyware and my security centre is not working. How can I find the name of what I am infected with | | geek_snoopy221 | July 24, 2008, 8:49 pm | #34 | | EMBESEALS. mmmm standard issue EMBESEALS.

What I do find boring is, idiots like yourself come onto this message board, know NOTHING about the given subject, and make a stupid ignorant statement like; "free antivirus applications have viruses inside them, they are the viruses", or the equivalent. What a dumb statement. AVG for example, offers FREE antivirus software, that is trusted by 70 million users. Avast, Antivir and the rest of the FREE solutions probably make up a few million users aswell. You are an absolute tosser. Now, click message board home and choose a board that suits your I/Q level. No board exists I am sorry. Now, go and ask your mummy if she can put you to bed, its way past 8 now. She will be angry at you for sneaking out of your beddy and using mummys computer. Ya farking dumbass | | geek_snoopy221 | July 24, 2008, 9:02 pm | #38 | | Gotta be fifty50 right some of the time..LOL Rotovegas aye...used to live there meself.Still got a cuzzie there even he does something with roads..LOL | | geek_pcfix4u | July 24, 2008, 9:02 pm | #39 | | Earth to number R U there??? | | geek_pheonix | July 24, 2008, 9:05 pm | #40 | | That wouldn't be Ron would it ? I'll say Hi to him next time I see him Monday week. | | geek_snoopy221 | July 24, 2008, 9:15 pm | #43 | | George..ah that goes back to the lakes and Shell Fairy springs don't it. Besides the microsoft and aol programs, all are useful if used correctly.
If unsure how to use them, ask here again. | | geek_jboyjgirl1 | July 25, 2008, 8:28 am | #49 | | Ccleaner- when I tried to download this I got a separate site popup that showed me purchase AnitVirus XP 2008- what is the story with that? Presume if I purchased by credit details would be everywhere? | | geek_r.g.nixon | July 25, 2008, 8:36 am | #50 | | Always ignore popups *ESPECIALLY* ones for security products - they will be trojans | | geek_jboyjgirl1 | July 25, 2008, 9:06 am | #51 | | Thanks, that is exactly what I thought. As if I don't have enough problems now that I have a BIG BUG! | | geek_aktow | July 25, 2008, 10:00 pm | #52 | | Try ad-aware 2007 or 2008 last year i got a trogan by downloading a windows update that was not from windows. it was a annoying pop up that said my computer may have viruses and redirected me to a site that sold virus removal programs. i tried removing the trogan with three bought virus removal program but none of them worked. i also tried many free programs and the same result. finaly i tried ad-aware 2007 and it removed the virus. this yeat i got the virus that made my screen blank. luckily i managed to start ad-aware before the screen went blank and it removed the virus. i now use ad-aware 2008 and its works great | | geek_1millie | July 26, 2008, 1:14 pm | #53 | | Thanks for all your help In the end I just turned it off and took it to the computer shop.
